Much of my earlier work was inspired by musicians I met during my night life years.

The bar/restaurant scene is still a hobby, even though I don’t bartend anymore. I keep myself healthy through random cult like obsessions like yoga and nutrition. Connecting to people in a playful way or sparking inspiration for someone through my art is endlessly fun and very rewarding. There is something wonderful about sending one of my little creations off into the world to do whatever it does. I love that I can be a part of a design community right here, from home in my jammies.

I love that I can be a full time mom while I do it. I love diving into a project and losing track of time. I started playing with illustrator a few years ago, so 99designs was the perfect outlet to try my new skills and to be schooled by a ton of amazing designers. Now that I’m a married mommy, I feed the creative beast with 99designs contests. I would then show and sell them in bars and clubs. I used to do these wild, child-like bar scene paintings that were more like big, sloppy illustrations on wood or whatever cool materials I found on the street. Satirical paintings of party people became my focus. My inspiration shifted from the fantasy of fashion, to the real people I served drinks to. I was only interested in drawing women, so I went on to study fashion design in New York.ĭuring this time, I was a bartender in the city for 10 years and I did a lot of painting. A subscription to Elle when I was 9 solidified my love for fashion. Like most little girls who draw, it started with mermaids and princesses. Of course, I love spending time with my husband and two sons. I enjoy mountain skiing, biking, snowboarding and traveling. What are other things you enjoy outside of design? Design is a universe of it’s own and I am proud to be a part of it. What I enjoy about being a designer is the the joy of creating. What do you love most about being a designer? But I have made the most of my opportunities to train myself and improve my graphic design skills which I have enjoyed for 10 years. I had little opportunity to improve my computer skills in my country because no University had the money to buy expensive computer equipment. I graduated from high school in arts for gifted children, then graduated from Kiev Academy of Arts University where I studied graphics and the basics of packaging design and outdoor ads.
